Frequently Asked Questions
Is It Right To Judge?
Answer:
Like many false teachings, this crazy idea that Christians are not supposed to judge has got to be one of the craziest, as well as one of the most unscriptural teachings around. Paul criticised the Corinthian believers for not having any wise men who could judge between their brethen. (1 Cor 6:5) “I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?”
The Lord Jesus himself instructed to judge righteous judgment. (John 7:24) “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” But if we are to judge righteous judgment then we cannot judge after the flesh, but most judge based upon what God judges. (John 8:15–16) “Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. 16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.”
So, not only is it right to judge, we are commanded to judge, but for that judgment to be right it must be according to the word of God.
