The Christian life is full of ups and downs. You face disappointments and heartbreaks, but the one thing you can always count on is the abiding presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. You learn that this cannot be said of any other.

In Romans 8, the Apostle Paul instructs believers as to why they can have hope even though they experience the failures of Romans 7.

(Rom 8:29 KJV) “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

All believers fail the Lord in some way, even though they may not  be willing to admit it. Others may abandon them, but the Lord never does. Despite all of David's failures, the Lord never abandoned him. He was a man after God's own heart, can you imagine that? The Lord promised him sure mercies, just like He promised the seed of Christ.

It's because of His sure mercies, the Christian should keep on keeping on, come what may. Always remember the faithfulness of Christ even in the midst of our unbelief.

(2 Tim 2:13 KJV) “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself”

If God intends all things to work together for good, then it is up to us to understand all things in light of what God is doing in our lives. God never wakes up surprised.

So the journey continues... yes, some changes are on the horizon, but the Lord knew that before we did. We had to learn some things before we could get to this point, but as a recovering fundamentalist we will continue to see what the Lord has in store. Stay tuned...
