Thou Fool

What does the Bible say about calling your brother a fool? (Matthew 5:22 KJV) “… but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.”

Feigned Faith of the Fathers

Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, warns Timothy about the dangers of turning aside from faith unfeigned. But what is faith unfeigned or unfeigned faith? What does turning aside from unfeigned faith actually mean? The opposite of unfeigned faith is feigned faith or fake faith. Webster’s 1828 dictionary defines feigned as, “to invent or imagine, to form an idea or conception of something not real. To make a show of; to pretend; to assume a false appearance; to counterfeit.”

Church Traditions

Sadly for many, church traditions have been exalted above the liberty of grace and leadership of the Spirit as taught by Paul, as if these traditions came down on tablets of stone. You, Pharisees are still, “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.”(Mark 7:13 KJV)

Of the four pictures which ones depict a spiritual church service? What criteria would you use to make such a determination? How would you judge such a thing?

The Mystery of Faith - Part 2

In professing Christendom, there is much confusion about the faith that saves. Many believe it to be their faith that saves them, and so when they stop believing they think that they have lost it. As we consider our text, we have to ask ourselves why Paul would refer to faith as a mystery, especially when Hebrews 11 records the faith of people as far back as Abel. People like Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Rahab, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Japhthae, David, Samuel, and the prophets all exhibited faith.

The Mystery of Faith - Part 1

When folks talk about “the faith” they typically are referring to a set of religious dogma: like the Catholic faith or the Protestant faith, etc. But when the Bible talks about “the faith,” it is something altogether different. It is talking about the faith of Christ which was one of the mysteries that was revealed to the Apostle Paul for the church age.
(1 Timothy 3:9 KJV) “Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

Forgiven in the Dispensation of Grace

Since the beginning of the Apostle Paul’s ministry there has been an attempt to co-mingle law and grace, thereby moving the believer away from faith in what has been revealed in the words of Christ given to Paul. Paul claimed that Christ was speaking through him.
